Ken Schrader Said...
"At Charlotte you can run on the bottom, in the middle or at the top. There are only a handful of tracks on the circuit where you can do that. It is nice that we are at home for 12 days, but that's not why I like racing at Charlotte. I just love the race track. It has little bumps and dips all over it and that makes the race real fun. Charlotte has all those little trademarks that keeps you on your toes during the race and keeps it interesting."
Ken Schrader's Stats...
* The "M&M's" Pontiac sported a new look at Lowe's Motor Speedway. The team traded in its familiar yellow paint scheme to pay tribute to NASCAR racing's most sassy female...the Green "M" Character. The car debuted last weekend in The Winston Open, and will also run this weekend in the Coca-Cola 600. The flashy paint scheme is metallic green with white numbers with Green displayed on the car in different poses.
"I kept hoping they would put Green on the car, and they finally did," Schrader said. "She's the best looking of all the 'M' Characters and she wears her little go-go boots, so I think it's great. She's smart, fun and cute, kind of like my wife Ann."
* Lowe's Motor Speedway is the site of Schrader's second career win in the Winston Cup Series. In 1989 Schrader took the checkered flag ahead of the field in the fall event. Schrader's best showing in the spring at Lowe's Motor Speedway is second in 1991.
* The "M&M's" driver had a strong weekend at Lowe's Motor Speedway in the 1999 Coca-Cola 600. Schrader finished seventh in the season's longest event after starting sixth.
