ENGLEWOOD, Colo.SCCA Pro Racing President K.C. Van Niman has ordered a review of the Court of Appeal findings regarding the April 16 Johnson Controls 100 presented by Simple Green BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series race in Long Beach, Calif.
Due to what I believe is an incomplete presentation of pertinent evidence, I feel it is in the best interest of the series, its participants and sponsors to further review the Court of Appeals findings to ensure proper adherence to all applicable PRR (Pro Racing Regulations) rules and regulations, said Van Niman.
Van Niman ordered the review after determining the Court of Appeals did not rule on the issues it was given to resolve as to PRR 9.4 (race finishes) and PRR Appendix R (rules of the road) 1.1.1 (green flag) and 1.1.6 (white flag).
We are in the process of a full and in-depth review of the pertinent facts as they relate to the Court of Appeals findings and the manner in which those facts were used in coming to its decision, added Van Niman. Therefore, until this review is completed, the results from the Long Beach race will remain provisional.
