Infiniti was seventh fastest on the sixth day of practice at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Eddie Cheever Jr. drove 225 miles today with his two Infiniti-powered Excite@Home cars, and successfully completed the required mileage run on the engine in his primary car at 492 trouble-free miles.
Cheever first tested the No. 51T car, recording his fastest lap of the day just before Noon with a 219.670 mph lap. The Excite@Home crew then focused on race setups with the No. 51 car, finishing their day of practice just before the rain started to fall at 3:00 p.m. local time.
QUOTES
Eddie Cheever Jr., No. 51 Excite@Home Infiniti: "It was very, very windy out there today. It was probably the worst day for wind that we've had. We did four full tank runs and we're very happy with the #51 Excite@Home Infiniti. We've put almost 500 miles on this engine with absolutely no problems. The car was a lot better. We didn't really see much point in going out and trying to set a time right now."
