BLOOMINGTON, IN Because of the rainout on May 5 and our all stock car program May 12, this will be the sprint cars first chance to race at Bloomington Speedway this season.

When the some of the best non winged sprint cars in the nation complete on a racing surface like the one at Bloomington Speedway, virtually every driver has a shot a finding victory lane. The track is always the same for everybody; but, at Bloomington, the heavy track will enable a driver to overcome a bobble with a pretty piece of driving on the next lap. Defending Pennzoil Cup champion Derek Scheffel of Columbus is expected to be on hand in his continued drive to win his third straight Pennzoil Cup championship. However, if Derek gets another win on the 19th, hell certainly have to earn it. The goal of every other sprint car driver in the pits will be to keep Derek from winning another championship or another race, for that matter.

UMP Modifieds and Indiana Super Stocks will also be in competition.

Grandstand admission for this special event is only $10 and pit admission is $20. Pit gates open at 4:30, grandstands open at 5:30, hot laps are at 6:30, and racing begins at 7:30. Overnight camping is permitted.
