Car: Pagan Racing No. 74 Dallara/Oldsmobile/Firestone

Position 33rd 45.507 seconds 197.772 mph

Notes - Pagan Racing received their 2000 Dallara chassis last Saturday. The team spent all day Saturday and most of Sunday making final preparations to the car. Richie was able turn 14 laps this afternoon before practice ended. Richie Hearn's only appearance in the Indianapolis 500 was in 1996 when he finished third. He was the highest finishing rookie.

Quotes - (on the first time in a 2000 Dallara)

It was good. Everything ran well right out of the box. The power feels good. It has a little bit shorter power curve than what I used to, but at a place like this it doesn't matter because you run flat out all the time. It just like what I'm used to. I haven't been in a car in a couple of months so I have to get my brain back in gear.

(on the track) The track is great, it hasn't changed at all. Going down the pit lane for the first time was cool. It looks the same. I'm not as intimidated as I was the first time I went out there. Nevertheless, you have to give this track a lot of respect and build up your speed quietly.
