NOTES OF INTEREST: The ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series will again ignite another big night under the lights at Lowes Motor Speedway with the EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 100 scheduled to roll off at 6 PM Saturday, May 20 prior to The Winston. A record 70 entries representing drivers in 18 states will attempt to make the starting grid on the 1.5-mile superspeedway for the 12th appearance of the ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series since it first ran there in 1964 when Curtis Turner won the inaugural event. 32 years would pass before the series returned in 1996. 3-time ARCA champion Tim Steele is the all-time ARCA winner at LMS with 4 victories and will make his return to LMS this May, his first appearance there since October of 97. Notable entrants include Kerry Earnhardt making his career-2nd ARCA start, Shawna Robinson in the Mayfield/Kranefuss Ford, CBS/HBO NFL TV analyst Jerry Glanville and Justin Labonte attempting to make his first ARCA start. 4 former ARCA champions are entered including Steele (93, 96 & 97), Bill Baird (99), Frank Kimmel (98) and Tracy Leslie (88).
