The Holley Pro Stock Dominator Duel is an all-star race between the top
eight
Pro Stock drivers based on qualifying points. The race lasts three rounds
and is run in conjunction with Saturday qualifying. The elite eight
drivers
will battle for coveted winner's trophy, a $50,000 check and of course
bragging rights among your competitors for the next year.
In '99 Jeg Coughlin walked away with it all in his first ever all-star race. This year Jeg is the No. 2 qualifier in his second appearance and will face off against Bruce Allen in round one.
"This is a great program for the fans, drivers and Holley performance products," said Jeg. "To run among the best of the best in a format like this is very rewarding. The guys on the team are really rewarded for their hard work, which is extremely gratifying for everyone involved on our team."
Troy Coughlin qualified No. 8 this year and will face off against Warren Johnson in the first round. This is Troy's second time qualifying for this special race. He first qualified in 1997.
"The eight drivers in this race are the eight most consistent qualifiers over a year," explained Troy.
Jeg and Troy will battle from opposite sides of the ladder in an effort to make the final round an all-JEG'S affair. The winner of the Holley Dominator Duel will have the opportunity for an additional $50,000 bonus should the winner of the race also win the title of the Matco Tools SuperNationals.
