SOUTH HAVEN, MI- For the second year, female race driver Terri Hundertmark has joined with Michelin North America to participate in the Michelin Car & Driver One Lap of America. The Indianapolis-resident will be driving a factory BMW Z3 M Coupe in the grueling seven-day event that began today here at GingerMan Raceway. The classic rally- the spiritual successor to the "Cannonball Run"- will cover more than 4200 freeway miles. The on-road stints will be broken-up by laps turned on seven of the east-coasts most prestigious road courses.

Hundertmarks Michelin/ MsSpeed.com/ Racing for Kids/ TCR BMW Z3 M Coupe is competing in the GT1 class. GT1 is the Michelin One Laps most technologically-advanced and highest performance class. The ultra-competitive class will place the Womens Global GT driver against BMW M3s, Dodge Vipers, Corvettes, Porsche 911 Turbos and Ferraris.

"Im excited about racing for Michelin and BMW this year. Today, I took the BMW Z3 M Coupe out and it handles like a dream! I cant believe that you can buy a car off the show room floor and, with the Michelin Pilot tires, have it handle like a race car."

"I was a little nervous not having any time in the M Coupe. I have raced the Michelin Pilot tires before and that gave me the confidence I needed to go out and run without any time in the car."

The Michelin One Lap will have its first timed-stop tomorrow, here at GingerMan. The Michelin/ MsSpeed.com/ Racing For Kids/ TCR BMW will have four timed laps of the track. Upon completion of the laps Hundertmark and her co-driver will pack the M Coupe and head to Michigan International Speedway where she will put the M Coupe through its paces.

Road Atlanta and Sebring [Florida] International Raceway are the two events which will follow the Michigan races.

The charitable driver is the sole female spokesperson for Racing For Kids. Racing For Kids is a non-profit organization that uses auto racing to raise awareness for sick and needy children. Hundertmark will again carry the Racing For Kids colors around the United States both in the Michelin One Lap of America and in her regular driving duties with the Womens Global GT Series, Skip Barber and other professional racing series throughout the year.

Before leaving the track for her last good nights sleep for the next week, Hundertmark commented, "It was hot out there today, too hot for Michigan. This whole race is going to be hot. Good thing that all BMWs come with air conditioning.
