CASEY ATWOOD TO PILOT A NEW CASTROL GTX CAR IN RICHMOND: The Castrol GTX Racing team unveiled a new No. 27 Chevrolet Monte Carlo for the Antioch, Tennessee resident to pilot in the Hardee's 250 NASCAR Busch Series race.
"We had an awesome car for flatter tracks like Richmond but we destroyed it last year in Homestead," said Atwood. "I drove that car to my first win and two poles. When the team built this new car to replace it, they used the measurements from other car to go off of."
Atwood is hoping a new car can help turn around his unflattering results in recent Richmond races.
"In my first race, I ran pretty good but the next two weren't anything to brag about," said Atwood. "The frustrating part is that I love racing on short tracks. If this new car is anything like the one it's modeled after, I'll be in good shape."
