Last Year At Richmond: Jeff Green, driver of the No. 10 Nestl NesQuik
Chevrolet, had a solid run in last years Hardees 250, but was unable
to capture the victory. The team cars of Green and Jason Keller led 139
of the events 250 laps. Green led the most laps of the evening, at 78,
while Keller led 61 laps. The ppc Racing teams are looking for a strong
showing this year, as well as the teams first win of the year.
"Both Jason and I had great cars last year," said Green. "We shouldve won the race, but we just missed the setup and were a little too tight at the end of the night. I never pick favorites where race tracks are concerned, but I really like this place. It reminds me of Memphis. They are both the same size and have pretty flat banking. As long as you take care of your brakes and keep all the fenders on it, you have a good shot at winning. We won at Memphis last year, so hopefully we can do the same thing this weekend."
Top-five finishes: Green has five top-five finishes in the last six events in the NASCAR Busch Series. The only time he finished out of the top-five was at Nashville, finishing 13th.
"Im really proud of my team," commented Green on his teams consistency. "They give me cars that are capable of sitting on the pole and winning the race every week. Each car we have raced this year has finished in the top-five. I truly believe you win the race at the race shop, meaning the car is close to perfect when it unloads off the truck and all you have to do is tweak it when you get to the race track. As Ive said before, I didnt learn to drive overnight. ppc Racing has given me the best equipment Ive ever had in my career and I believe I have the best crew chief and team in the business. The only thing we are lacking in our program this year is our first trophy."
Equipment: The NesQuik Racing team is taking the same car to Richmond that competed earlier this year at Nashville, where it finished 13th and led the most laps of the event.
