Buckshot Jones will again pilot a Chevrolet Monte Carlo this
weekend at Richmond International Raceway instead of a Pontiac Grand Prix.
The Hardee's 250 will mark the second consecutive race in a Chevrolet for
Jones. The team finished 23rd at California last week with the new Monte
Carlo.
The Buckshot Racing team tested at Richmond back in April with moderate results in a Grand Prix. Not much of the information learned from the test will be used with the Monte Carlo although the team is hoping the Chevrolet will yield much better results.
Cheez-It Team driver Buckshot Jones will sign autographs for the general public on Thursday, May 4, from 6:30-7:30 pm at the Driving Away Distrophy Fifth Annual Race Fan Night. The event is at Bill Talley Ford, located at 5110 South Laburnum Avenue in Richmond.
Buckshot Jones Said
"This is our first night race of the year and Richmond is a great place for it. The sparks tend to fly at Richmond and I don't know why that is. Maybe it's because of the track configuration or maybe it's because everybody remembers the racing that took place on the short tracks under the lights on Friday and Saturday nights as they were coming up through the ranks. Whatever it is, Richmond is still a lot of fun to go to."
"We learned a lot about the Chevrolet at California last week. Even though Richmond and California are nothing alike, we still were able to gather information and make notes."
