HARRISBURG, N.C. - On lap 60 of the 113-lap Touchstone Energy 300 at the Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway, Randy LaJoie, driver of the No. 1 Bob Evans Restaurants Chevrolet, was involved in a multi-car accident which sent him to the infield care center.
After a preliminary examination, he was transported to Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala., for further observation where he was treated for a mild concussion and released.
"The only thing remember was coming back up the track in front of the field," LaJoie said. "I saw Dick Trickle coming at me and I knew it was going to hurt. The next thing I knew, I was in the infield care center.
"They told me I also hit pretty hard with the right front after Trickle hit me," LaJoie continued.
"We had a real good chance at two (wins) in a row. The Bob Evans Chevy was awesome. I guess it just wasn't our day. I'm really glad we've got a weekend off, I need to rest."
