NorthernLight Indy Racing: Treadway Racing Partners with Morton's Steakhouse for May Sam Schmidt Benefit

Indianapolis, IN: Treadway Racing is pleased to announce their third annual Indianapolis 500 Charity Benefit with help from host restaurant Morton's of Chicago, The Steakhouse. This year, all proceeds from this star studded racing event are for Treadway Racing driver Sam Schmidt, who was critically injured in an open testing accident in early January.

Always a favorite with the racing crowd, the benefit boasts attendance from fellow host Arie Luyendyk to drivers such as: Al Unser Jr., Robby McGehee as well as last year's CART FedEx Champion Juan Montoya and teammate Jimmy Vasser. Attendees will also have access to select motorsport collectibles in an exclusive silent auction which will include items from all forms of racing as well as the NFL, LPGA and music industry.

Hailed as THE party of May, with thanks to Morton's generosity; the benefit will feature a lavish strolling dinner buffet, open bar, valet parking available and the promise of fabulous food in a laid back, star-studded, atmosphere.

Sam Schmidt is currently participating in a program at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri that is designed to optimize neural activity in the injured spinal cord and reverse his quadriplegia. He has recovered enhanced ability to spontaneously breathe and has begun to gain motor and sensory function below his original level of injury.
