NASCAR BGN: Talladega is like 'a chess game' for David Green

CHESS, ANYONE?

"Running at Talledega is like a chess game. Sometimes you make a move that might not get you anyplace right away, but it will help you in two or three laps. And sometimes you make a move just to see how other people will react. Then, you store that information away until later in the race when you need it again. Its a never-ending game that requires a lot of patience. It can also be very nerve wracking."

PATIENCE, PATIENCE, PATIENCE

"Every race we run in the BUSCH Series requires a different level of patience. Its kind of ironic that last week (in Nashville) we ran at one of the shortest tracks, and this week we are at the biggest, but both tracks require a lot of patience. The difference is that a lack of patience last week could cost you a few spots, but this week the consequences will be a lot more serious. I hope everyone brings a lot of patience with them this week because we didnt see much of it in Nashville."

WIND TUNNEL TESTED

AFG Glass Team 34 will be bringing chassis B3 to Talladega. The chassis is the same one that brought David home in 11th position at Daytona this year, but it will have a new body that was tested last week in the wind tunnel. The wind tunnel test was conducted with Hendrick Motorsports as part of the alliance the two teams share.

"We reconstructed the body on the car because it didnt run well in qualifying or by itself at Daytona. The wind tunnel test went well and the numbers looked good, so were excited to see how it performs."

TEAM EFFORT IN TALLADEGA

Its no secret that multi-car teams share information, but sponsors, too? This weekend AFG Glass will host teammate, Tim Fedewas sponsor, Stanley as their featured associate sponsor on the rear quarter panel of the No. 34 AFG Glass Chevrolet. On selected events, AFG will change the livery on the quarter panels of the No. 34 car in appreciation for their featured associate sponsors who utilize AFG Glass.

MR. CONSISTENCY

David Green is proving to be one of the NASCAR Busch Series most consistent drivers with five consecutive top 10s. Green sits just 97 points out of first place and has a legitimate chance at regaining the NASCAR Busch Series championship crown he won in 1994.
