* Don't be shocked to see two different Stanley cars circling the
track this weekend. The sponsor for Cicci-Welliver teammates Tim Fedewa
and
David Green have also teamed up on the track.
Not only will Stanley be on the No. 36 car, but it is also the featured associate sponsor on the No. 34 AFG Glass car at Talladega. Stanley's two mirror plants in Mississippi and California are large purchasers of AFG Glass.
"We're delighted to be the featured associate sponsor at the Talladega event for Tim's teammate David Green and the AFG Glass car," said Gregor McCluskey, director of Stanley Racing. "It would be quite a milestone if Stanley could finish first and second with these two cars in Talladega. I think we're all hoping to see Stanley in victory lane Saturday afternoon."
* The Touchstone Energy 300 will be the debut of the Stanley team's new crew chief, Billy Nacewicz. A 26-year veteran of racing, Nacewicz comes to the Stanley team with a long and distinguished resume. He was most recently the crew chief of the No. 74 Bace Motorsports team.
"I've worked with a lot of these guys, but Talladega will be our first test as a team," Nacewicz said. "Tim had a great run last weekend. I hope we can build on that and really turn around the season for this Stanley team."
* Larry Woody of The Tennessean was the winner of the saw and mitre box in the "Who Wants To Be A Tool Winner?" contest last weekend in Nashville. Guess where Tim Fedewa and the Stanley car will finish in Talladega and win a multi-bit screwdriver.
