Dallas, TX--Larry Foyt, driver of the No. 14 Harrahs Pontiac in the American Speed Association (ASA) series and a senior at Texas Christian University (TCU), has joined hundreds of others by raising funds for a fellow classmate, Robbyn Ki ndle.

Kindle, 31-year-old dietetics major at TCU, is awaiting a liver and small bowl transplant at Nebraska Medical Center. The characteristic deep yellow of her skin and eyes attest that her liver cannot filter the pigmented waste of used red blood cells. Flu id building up in her abdomen makes it difficult for her to breathe. And based on her conditions, her doctor has told her she has a short time to live. While she awaits a transplant, shes fed through a stomach tube and trys to remain optimistic.

Foyt, 23, will compete in the ASA race this Saturday, April 8, at the Lanier International Speedway in Gainsville, GA. TNN will broadcast the race at 9:00 p.m. EST. There are 300 laps in the race and so far Foyt has raised fourteen dollars per lap, total ing $4,200, for the aftercare and other needs outside of surgery. Medicare and Medicaid have agreed to cover the transplants.

"I heard about Robbyn through my communications professor and the school paper," said Foyt. "And I wanted to contribute in some way, so I thought I could use racing to help raise much needed funds for Robbyn and her family. Several of my sponsors stepped up (Z Waterworks, Key Sprinkler, Hunter Industries, Pegasus Irrigation and Horticultural Services) to raise race lap money to contribute."

To join Larry in contributing to Robbyn and her family, TCU is collecting donations on Robbyns behalf. Checks should be made payable to "The Kindle Family," and sent to the Office of the Provost at TCU Box 297040, Fort Worth, TX 76129. These donations a re not tax-deductible, but will go a long way toward lessening the financial burden Robbyn and her family face every day.
