INDIANAPOLIS - Indy Racing Northern Light Series rookie Sarah Fisher, an Ohio native, will ride a float entered by Kentucky Speedway in the 81st Annual Findlay Market/Cincinnati Reds Opening Day Parade on April 3 in downtown Cincinnati.

The float also will carry an Indy Racing car.

Kentucky Speedway, under construction, is located approximately 35 miles southwest of Cincinnati. The speedway will play host to the Belterra Resort Indy 300 on Aug. 27.

Hamilton wins USAC feature: Indy Racing standout Davey Hamilton returned to his roots March 26, winning the USAC Western Sprint Car Series feature at Stockton 99 Speedway in Stockton, Calif.

Hamilton led all 40 laps of the sprint main in his Consani Racing Special. Mike Boat, brother of Indy Racing standout Billy Boat, finished 14th.

New man in command: Bruce Ashmore, the technical director of Reynard North America, has been appointed as president of Reynard Motorsports North American operations.

Ashmore will oversee operations of Reynard North America, the companys wind tunnel and research facility in Indianapolis and race car manufacturer Riley & Scott - one of three Indy Racing chassis manufacturers.

Hot laps: Four-time Indianapolis 500 winner A.J. Foyt, a leading Indy Racing Northern Light Series team owner, welcomed another grandchild into his family March 20, as his son Jerry and daughter-in-law Kate became parents of Lauren Elizabeth Foyt.
