NASCAR BGN: David Green Texas Track Notes

Good Omens:

If Cicci-Welliver Racing team manager, Clyde McLeod were superstitious, hed say he saw a good omen on Monday evening. After a storm hit the Concord, NC area, (Cicci-Welliver Racing shop location) a perfectly arched rainbow appeared right over the AFG Glass Team 34 hauler.

"Rainbows are supposed to be bring luck and that rainbow was right over the AFG hauler," said McLeod. "Well see if there is any truth to the rumor that rainbows bring good fortune. Hopefully, the pot of gold at the end of this one will be a win at Texas."

David Green on Texas:

"I really like going to Texas, said Green. "My wife, Diane is from here so we have a lot of friends to see and fun things to do this week. For example, on Friday, we are going to the World of Outlaws race. Its a rare chance for us to relax with our family and friends.

"This is only the second time I have ever run here in a Busch car," said Green. "The track is like Atlanta though. Its near the same size and the corners are similar. So even though we are taking a totally new car there, I think we will be all right since we have run well at Atlanta in the past."

Whats a Racetrack?

AFG Glass Team 34 will be taking chassis number G3 to Texas Motor Speedway this weekend for the Albertsons 300 Presented by Pop Secret. G3 is a Ronnie Hopkins chassis with a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Body on it.

"This car has never seen the light of day," said crew chief Jay Guy. "We havent tested her at all. She doesnt even know what a racetrack is."
