NASCAR BGN: Jeff Green ready to 'get rid of Cup guys'

Last Week At Bristol: Jeff Green, driver of the No. 10 Nestle NesQuik Chevrolet, wanted to get his first win of the season last week at Bristol.

"If we could get rid of those Cup guys, the NesQuik Racing team wouldve won three races this season," said Green. "Im just kidding about that. Everyone knows that I dont have a problem with the Cup guys racing over here. I just plan on making sure that Im the highest finishing Busch regular every week. As much as I want to win races, Im also over here to gain as many points for the championship each week. I was happy about our first pole of the season, but our next goal is to get to victory lane. Im hoping that will happen this week at Texas. I know we have a car capable of winning, so well just have to wait and see."

Thought on Texas: Green shares his thoughts on how to be successful at the 1.5-mile tri-oval.

"The track is identical to Atlanta, but has less banking, so it isnt as fast," said Green. "During qualifying at Atlanta, you can hold the throttle wide open, but at Texas, since the banking is so flat, you have to let off the gas pedal. I do like the track because it is big enough to pass on and because it has a lot of grip."

What Could Have Been: Green reflects on last years NASCAR Busch Series event at Texas.

"I shouldve won the race last year at Texas," said Green. "We were leading the race at the last two restarts of the race, but we had lost third gear. On the first restart, I fell back to third and was able to get back to first within a few laps. However, I was leading on the last restart and fell back to third again. The rain came two laps later and we were stuck with a third-place finish. It was really disappointing because we were capable of winning that race. Well get them this year."

Equipment: The NesQuik Racing team is taking the same car to Texas that raced earlier this year at Atlanta.

"Weve learned some things from the Atlanta race, so weve made some changes to the body to make it cut through the air better," said Green. "I feel like well be more competitive aerodynamically this time."

Jeff Green Appearance: Green will appear at Central Intermediate School in Carrollton, TX on Wednesday, March 29th at 1:45 p.m. to promote reading education for Nestl USAs nationwide Adopt-A-School program. Green will promote the importance of reading to the students and participate in special activities with them. There will also be a special appearance by the NesQuik Bunny.
