NASCAR BGN: Tim Fedewa prepares for racing in Texas

* After a rough ride at Bristol Motor Speedway last weekend, Tim Fedewa and the No. 36 Stanley team are hoping to rebound this weekend in the Lone Star State when the NASCAR Busch Series visits Texas Motor Speedway for the Albertson's 300.

"We were lucky to even finish that race considering all the problems we had last weekend," Fedewa said. "I thought the team did a great job to keep the car running and keeping me out there on the track. Hopefully, we can rebound from last week's problems and have a good showing at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend."

* The Stanley team will be using the same No. 36 car that finished 11th at Darlington Raceway earlier this season. The car has a Hopkins-built chassis and a Fischer engine.

"The team feels real good going into this weekend," said crew chief Richard Lasater. "We tested this car in Atlanta, but didn't get to run it there because of the wreck in Rockingham. Then we came back with the car in Darlington, and it was incredibly strong."

* It was a close one in last week's "Who Wants To Be A Tool Winner?" Stanley tools sweepstakes 2000. Four media members correctly guessed where Fedewa and the Stanley team would finish, and a winner had to be chosen by a random drawing. Jim Utter of the Charlotte Observer took home the Fat Max tape measure.

This week's winner will get a Stanley hammer and screwdriver. Be sure to fill out a sweepstakes entry before the start of the Albertson's 300 on Saturday.
