CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The route is planned, the charity
has been chosen, and now the ride-ending entertainment has been secured
for
this year's Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America.
Long distance phone provider 10-10-220 presents Sawyer Brown with special guest artist Toby Keith live at the Petty Farm Sun., May 7. A variety of NASCAR souvenir trailers and simulators will be on hand for the event and everyone is welcome. Tickets for the concert go on sale Fri., March 31, and can be purchased from Ticketmaster for $20 before the event and $30 at the gate on Sunday. Children under six are admitted free with an accompanying adult.
"We're thrilled to be taking part in the Charity Ride Across America," said Mark Miller, lead vocalist for Sawyer Brown. "All of us in the band are blessed to have healthy children, and anything we can do to raise funds that will help make children well, we're happy to do. We also look forward to seeing some of our friends from the racing world."
Toby Keith echoed Miller's enthusiasm.
"We can't wait to bring the country to the town," Keith said. "So North Carolina better be ready for a good ol' time May 7. How do you like me now!"
This year's national charity benefiting from the Charity Ride is The Hole in the Wall Gang Camps for Kids founded by Paul Newman. The Camps were founded to provide children with serious illnesses a chance to enjoy an old-fashioned camping experience. The ride will also benefit children's hospitals along the route and the Winston Cup Racing Wives Auxiliary. If you can't join Kyle on the ride, you can charge your donation by calling 1-800-BE-PETTY.
