PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The AMA Women & Motorcycling
National Conference has
gained a new corporate sponsor -- Kawasaki -- for the July 13-16
conference in Athens, Ohio. Signing on as a Platinum Sponsor, the highest-level of support, Kawasaki continues to be a leader in catering to the growing market of women motorcyclists.
Following a comprehensive direct mail and advertising campaign aimed at women motorcyclists, Kawasaki says sales of their extensive motorcycle line continue to grow.
"Last year, in select on-highway Vulcan cruiser and Ninja sportbike categories, women accounted for as much as 37 percent of purchases of new Kawasaki motorcycles," said Sheryl Bussard, who heads up national consumer media relations for Kawasaki's motorcycle division. "We're extremely proud to be returning as a sponsor for the second AMA Women & Motorcycling National Conference," says Bussard.
Kawasaki was also a sponsor for the first Women & Motorcycling Conference in 1997.
At the conference, Kawasaki will also be offering a fleet of demo motorcycles for test rides. BMW and Yamaha will also offer demo rides. The Women & Motorcycling National Conference is a four-day meeting of motorcycling enthusiasts, industry leaders, and presenters with various expertise relating to women and motorcycling. Held at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, the conference will see presentations on topics ranging from motorcycle mechanics, travel tips and women's gear, to insight from women racers, touring and sport riders, women working in the motorcycling industry and manufacturers.
