SCCA: Simo Shifts for Y2K

14 March 2000

Brian Simo's plans for the BF Goodrich Trans-Am Series took an abrupt turn in recent weeks when Tom Gloy withdrew from a planned partnership with Bruce Barkelew to field Simo's Valvoline Ford Mustang. As a result, Simo -- Trans-Am runner-up the last three years -- has joined the Huffaker/Qvale team and will drive the Tommy Bahama-sponsored DeTomaso Mangusta. The season begins Friday (March 17) at Sebring.
