Azusa, Calif.--Wynn Oil Co. recently announced it has
reached an agreement with the American Speed Association (ASA) to return
to the ASA ACDelco Series in the position of the Official Petro Chemical
Specialties and Automotive Additives.
As part of the agreement, Wynns will sponsor the "Wynns Winning Move" and
award $500 each race to the driver who performs the "winning move" of the
event.
"We are very strong believers that any sponsorship program must be accompanied by an effective and efficient marketing plan," commented President of Wynn Oil Co. Don DiCostanzo. "ASA affords us that opportunity, which we will try to use to its fullest. Man y companies talk about it, we do it."
The new agreement with ASA allows Wynns to develop a marketing plan and improve customer relations, while integrating several special events around race weekend activities, including show car appearances, personal appearances and hospitality packages. Th e deal also includes a built-in ticketing and pit pass program that Wynns will be able to offer to customers and business partners.
Wynns began its involvement with ASA in 1992 as a series sponsor and a car sponsor for Mack McClellan. Wynns moved to sponsor the car of Gary St. Amant in 1993, and continued its involvement as a series sponsor through 1998. In 1999, Wynns stayed on a s sponsor for the Automotive Promotions team, for which St. Amant drives, before returning as an official series sponsor in 2000.
"I have always insisted with any Wynn Oil Co. involvement, no matter where the team finishes, the race or event weekend be a win, meaning show-car appearances, invited guests, customer prospects, etcetera," said Wynns Racing Representative Larry Nuber. "(Gary) St. Amant is superb in all of those areas."
The 2000 season will see Wynns once again on the number 7 Chevrolet of the 1998 ASA National Champion, but with an all-new look. The car will not carry its familiar orange and black colors. Instead, the car will be bright yellow with red and black trim, promoting Wynns new product Number Five, bottled in a container of the same color.
Wynn Oil manufactures and markets specialty chemicals and equipment for a wide range of uses. Customers include automotive repair centers, manufacturing facilities, mines, farms and consumers for do-it-yourself and household products. These various product s and service programs are sold in over 100 countries around the world by 14 affiliated companies and an international network of independent distributors and representatives.
