INDIANAPOLIS - Northern Light Indy Racing Series
points leader Robbie Buhl was entered March 1 into the 84th Indianapolis
500
by Dreyer & Reinbold Racing.
Buhl, from Indianapolis, will drive the #24 Team Purex Dreyer & Reinbold Racing G Force with Firestone tires. The teams engine choice will be announced in the future. Buhl won the season-opening Delphi Indy 200 at Walt Disney World Speedway in January with Oldsmobile power. But Dreyer & Reinbold was a partner with Sinden Racing Service last season when it fielded a car for Buhl with Infiniti engines, and team co-owner Dennis Reinbold owns an Infiniti dealership in the Indianapolis area..
Dreyer & Reinbold Racing also entered an identical backup machine for Buhl, a co-owner of the team with Eric DeBord. 1999 Pennzoil Chief Mechanic of the Year John OGara is chief mechanic, and Mitch Davis is team manager.
Buhl, 36, will attempt to make his fifth start at Indianapolis. His best finish was sixth last year in a car owned by A.J. Foyt Enterprises. Buhl started 32nd before climbing 26 spots to the finish, tying the best climb from start to finish ever in an Indy Racing League event.
