INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis native Tyce Carlson was entered Feb. 29 into the 84th Indianapolis 500 by Hubbard-Immke Racing.

Carlson will drive the #20 Hubbard Photographics-Immke Auto Group-Dallara Dallara/Oldsmobile/Firestone. He will attempt to make his third Indy start. His best finish was 14th last season.

Hubbard-Immke Racing also entered an identical backup machine for Carlson, the teams full-time driver in the Northern Light Indy Racing Series. Greg Beck is chief mechanic, and Jeff Dickerson is team manager.

Carlson, 29, is a former USAC short-track standout who first participated in the Indianapolis 500 in 1996, failing to qualify. He qualified at Indy for the first time in 1997 for PDM Racing, finishing 19th after running as high as sixth.
