Notes From "The Rock": Jeff Green, driver of the No. 10 Nestl NesQuik
Chevrolet, was glad to get back on target for his goal this season to
win the 2000 NASCAR Busch Series championship.
"I was really glad to get back on track for our goal of the championship after our disappointing outing at Daytona," said Green. "The NesQuik Racing team didnt let the bad start to the season affect our attitude. Everyone is bound to have a bad day, but ours just came early in the season. Im very confident in my team and their ability to give me competitive cars every weekend. I know that we have the ability to win every event we enter."
150th Career Start: When Green takes the green flag in the Sams Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 4, 2000, it will be his 150th career NASCAR Busch Series start.
A Numbers Game: Green is hoping that he is lucky in the numbers game while he is in Las Vegas, but he isnt talking about the casinos. "I got my first career NASCAR Busch Series win at Las Vegas in 1997," said Green. "The win came on my 100th career NBS start. It turns out that this year at Las Vegas will be my 150th career start. Im placing my bet that career starts and wins are a lucky combination for me at Las Vegas!"
Interactive Trophy: Green got a black Labrador puppy soon after his first career NBS win at Las Vegas in 1997. He named her "Vegas" to commemorate the win.
Equipment: The NesQuik Racing team is taking the same chassis (with the new 2000 Chevrolet body style) that Green raced at Pikes Peak in 1999. In that event, Green qualified fourth and finished fourth. Green feels that the car will be strong at Las Vegas.
Jeff Green Appearances: Jeff Green will be making several appearances in the Las Vegas market prior to the Sams Town 300. Green will signing autographs on Thursday, March 2nd from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sams Town Casino. The next evening, Friday, March 3rd, Green will attend the Speedway Childrens Charities "Driver Auction" at the Stardust Resort from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Jeff Green / Las Vegas Motor Speedway Statistics: Green has completed 100% of the laps in both races he competed in at Las Vegas. He also started on the pole and won the inaugural NBS event in 1997.
