"Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the kind of track I like driving. It's a
flat
track with a lot of room for passing and side by side racing. I've had a
lot of success on tracks similar to Las Vegas, so I'm looking forward to a
good weekend."--- Buckshot Jones, driver of the No.00 Cheez-It Pontiac.
* Las Vegas Experience
Along with having two career NASCAR Busch Series starts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Jones has one Winston Cup start at the track. Jones finished 29th in the Las Vegas 400 in 1999.
* Flat Track Experience
Jones has had much success on flat tracks similar to Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the past and he is hoping that success continues this weekend. Jones claimed a pole at Indianapolis Raceway Park in 1998 and has two career NASCAR Busch Series victories on two other flat tracks, The Milwaukee Mile and New Hampshire International Speedway in 1996 and 1998.
