LAS VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY
NASCAR BUSCH SERIES
NOTES AND QUOTES

On Daytona . . . The No. 15 Albertson's team is looking to improve on their 25th place finish at Daytona. They feel Las Vegas is a great place to start.

"We had an unfortunate start at Daytona," said Jack Sprague. "After we fixed the problem we experienced early on, we were turning times equivalent to the race leaders. It's even more disappointing when you know you could have been running up front. There's nothing we can do now but look ahead."

Familiar Track . . . Although Sprague has never run a NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division car at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, he is looking forward to the Sam's Town 300 on March 4, 2000.

"We didn't get the chance to test our car at Las Vegas. But if there was going to be a track I wouldn't get the opportunity to run at before the first practice I'm glad that it's Vegas. This speedway has been one of my best tracks in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. I've won two out of the four races there. I know how to run at Las Vegas and the rest is up to the car and the crew.

Track Sophomores . . . The Sam's Town 300 is only the second time the No. 15 Andy Petree Racing Chevrolet has run at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Crew chief Chris Carrier believes the team is as prepared as they can be to take on the 1.5-mile oval.

"We didn't get a change to test at Las Vegas and we would have liked to," said Carrier. "The No. 55 Andy Petree Racing Winston Cup team tested well there this year. The advantage of being part of a multi-car team is that we now have good notes from them. Between what we learned from last year's race and Jack's success and experience at this track, the No. 15 Albertson's Chevrolet should be a contender for the checkered flag."

About the Car . . . "This is a new 2000 body, but the chassis itself has been a good car for us at the larger intermediate tracks likes Charlotte, Michigan and Atlanta. The team has been working real hard to get this car ready for Las Vegas and we think it can run up front."
