NASCAR BGN: Green Ready to Capture the Checker at 'The Rock'

26 February 2000

(Concord, NC)--David Green has had great success at North Carolina Speedway in Rockingham, NC, but has not been able to claim the victory at the wave of the checkered flag. This time, David and AFG Glass Team 34 are dead set on getting into victory lane in the Alltel 200 on February 26, 2000.

Rockingham holds a special place in my heart, said Green. I clinched the 1994 NASCAR Busch Series championship here, sat on the pole two times, and have run well just about every time I come to this track. But a win has eluded me here so, naturally, that is what I am looking to do with my AFG Glass Team 34 Chevrolet.

AFG Glass Team 34 has worked hard to build a car which will hold up to Greens reputation at The Rock.

We have worked hard on this car, said crew chief Jay Guy. It is the same basic chassis design that David qualified fifth and finished in the top-10 last year. The only difference is it has the 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo body. The body has improved for 2000, so this should be an advantage over the guys running the 99 body style as we saw in pre-season testing.

Green and AFG Glass Team 34 will take another Rockingham veteran with them, Finch Industries. This is the second time Finch Industries will appear as a featured associate sponsor on the quarter panel of the AFG Glass car.

Finch Industries, Inc. produces high quality flat glass products specializing in CNC cutting, CNC V-grooving, beveling, glass and mirror fabrication, lead free mirror manufacturing, vinyl/ansi backing, tempering and producing customized art through our patented digital imaging system. Finch Industries imparts the latest in decorative images for glass and mirror.

The Alltel 200 can be seen live on TNN at 1:00 pm.
