PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- In addition to the informational
seminars that
highlighted the first AMA Women & Motorcycling National Conference, this
year's edition will also feature a more varied state of activities,
including demo rides from major manufacturers and motorcycle rentals.
BMW and Yamaha have both signed on to offer demo rides at the conference,
set for July 13-16 in Athens, Ohio. "This is a great opportunity for women to ride our full line of motorcycles, which they may not have done at most of the dealerships," says Kim German, sales promotion manager at Yamaha. "We'll have a demo fleet that we take to all of the rallies. I think we'll be pretty busy."
"We're really excited about including demo rides at this year's conference," said Tom Barlow, the AMA's Women & Motorcycling National Conference Chairman. "The manufacturers involved have shown their commitment to this fast-growing market of women riders. And the entire experience for conference participants is significantly enhanced."
In addition, the AMA has teamed up with Mountain Thunder to offer motorcycle rentals for participants who are unable to ride their motorcycle to the conference. For more information, log on to the company's website at www.wvbiker.com or call 1-888-WV-BIKER.
