"We feel really good about this year after running Daytona and heading into Rockingham. Qualifying up front is the key to doing well at Rockingham. Tire wear is a big issue and your car needs to be set up to be good on long runs. To have a shot at winning at this track, you really need to have a car that is strong all day."

--- Buckshot Jones, driver of the No.00 Cheez-It Pontiac.

* Daytona Recap

The Buckshot Racing team had a dynamic start to the 2000 season in Daytona last weekend. Jones was consistently one of the fastest cars all weekend and qualified 4th for the NAPA Auto Parts 300. The team exhibited great pit stops and Jones led 27 laps early in the race. He remained in the top ten for the remainder of the race and finished the day in eighth position.

"Our performance in Daytona will hopefully set the standard for the rest of the year," said Jones. "I owe a lot to my team, they put a tremendous amount of work into preparing for Daytona. Sandy and the guys gave me a fast car and we were strong all weekend. Our pit stops were fast and they got me out of the pits first which put me in the lead early in the race. This team has worked incredibly hard over the off season and I think it is only a hint of what we are capable of accomplishing this year."

* Rockingham Fact

Jones earned his first career Busch Series pole at North Carolina Speedway in October 1996 with a speed of 150.425 mph.
