LAS VEGAS- Heavy rain forced the cancellation of the first day of the "Test in the West" for Northern Light Indy Racing Series teams on Feb. 21 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The second and final day of the Las Vegas leg of the "Test in the West" is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. (PST) Feb. 22. Nearly 25 Indy Racing drivers are scheduled to turn laps until 4 p.m. (PST).

No cars turned a lap today on the 1.5-mile oval at Las Vegas due to persistent rain.

The second leg of the "Test in the West" will take place Feb. 25-26 at Phoenix International Raceway.

Teams are preparing for the MCI WorldCom Indy 200 on March 19 at Phoenix International Raceway and the Las Vegas 500 on April 22 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
