Reigning American Le Mans
Series (Prototype) and USRRC (Can-Am) Drivers’ Champion Elliott
Forbes-Robinson will return to the Speedvision World Challenge for the first
time since competing in four races in 1994. The 1993 World Challenge
Champion will drive the No. 66 Move-It Motorsports Lotus Esprit Turbo for
the 2000 season.
"I’ve tentatively made a deal with the team, and provided the cars are ready for the first, race, I’ll do the full season," said Forbes-Robinson, 56. "I’m having so much fun racing right now. I don’t know how much longer I can do this, so I’m going to do as much driving as possible. As long as I’m driving, I’m having fun."
Forbes-Robinson, of Sherrils Ford, N.C., will continue to drive for Dyson Racing in Grand-Am and select ALMS events.
Move-It Motorsports confirmed that Cadillac LMP driver Butch Leitzinger will pilot the team’s No. 95 entry. Leitzinger, who shared Co-Champion’s honors in the USRRC Can-Am with Forbes-Robinson in 1999, was not available for comment.
