PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) professional racers can collect over $11 million in bonus awards in 2000. The total awards posted for major AMA Pro Racing championship events in 2000 will exceed $11 million. A total of 54 companies have signed up for the AMA Pro Racing bonus awards program, with total postings of $11,041,305.

Bonus awards are paid on top of purse monies and championship bonuses offered by class and series sponsors, and are paid to riders who meet various performance and eligibility requirements.

At each event, riders are required to complete a claim sheet as part of the tech inspection process, where AMA Pro Racing officials will verify compliance with the sponsors' eligibility requirements. Once the race results become official, sponsors are provided the award winners name, address and social security number, in order to make payment. Also included in this reporting process is the event date, location, finish position and award amount.

AMA Pro Racing is proud to provide the motorcycle industry with an ideal opportunity to market their products to performance-oriented spectators and participants, and pleased to provide these additional earning opportunities for licensed AMA competitors.
