DAYTONA BEACH, FL-- Following yesterday's exciting day of practice which saw Robby Gordon run consistently in the top ten, Team Gordon sponsors Turtle Wax and Johns Manville decided to up the ante. Both companies have decided to further support Robby Gordon's run at the Daytona 500 by taking over the hood.
"I got a call last night from the folks at Turtle Wax who had seen me on television quite a bit yesterday," said Gordon with a smile. "They said they were so pleased with the way things were going and how we had been running that they wanted do anything they could to help us out. Honestly, they've been great to us over the last year, so we put together a deal to have their logo on the hood for the 125's and 500.
"A little while later last night I spoke to John Menard, who had also been watching the Speedweeks coverage. Apparently he spoke to the people at Johns Manville and they wanted in as well! Once again, we structured a one-race deal. This morning as we pushed through tech I had the decals placed on the hood. I'd like to thank both companies for their support, we're working so hard to be a force this weekend, it's nice to know someone recognizes our desire."
Turtle Wax is the nation's leading automotive wax producer, also visible on Team Gordon's Taurus through exposure via the CD-2 Engine Treatment logo on the rear of the car. Johns Manville is one of the giants in the home/business roofing and insulation market.
