Huntsville, Ala. AMA/Prostar announced today that a new publication, titled Motorcycle Street & Strip, will become their official publication, beginning with coverage of their first race of 2000 in Gainesville.
MS&S will be produced by GTTF Publishing, publishers of American Roadracing (Now American Road & Racing). It will have the same design concept of AR&R featuring giant pictures, exciting layouts, and editorial direction designed to make the magazine entertaining and informative. It will focus specifically on motorcycle drag racing and hot street performance.
Circulation will be handled by the consultants and fulfillment house used by AR&R, and it should found in bookstores, on newsstands, and in motorcycle dealerships nationally. Promotion of MS&S will also be pursued on the web magazines Dragbike.com and 2wf.com.
Further information will be available next week, however attendees of the Dealer Expo 2000, in Indianapolis, are welcome to stop by GTTF's booth [booth #8108] to find out more information about advertising and sales.
In addition to covering the AMA/Prostar series, MS&S will feature high performance streetbikes, profiles of industry leaders and competitors, and tech articles. Other series, such as NHRA, outlaw, regional events, and land speed racing, will be covered as well.
For those who are not familiar with the AMA/Prostar series, it is the largest all-motorcycle drag racing sanctioning body, involving over 5,000 competitors annually, in international, national, regional and local-levels of racing. Prostar is also the drag racing division of the American Motorcyclist Association, an organization involving over 240,000 members.
"It is our hope that through our support of MS&S that it will bring the sport of motorcycle drag racing to the mainstream motorcycle enthusiast," said Keith Kizer, AMA/Prostar President.
