.how he feels about practice:
"We keep making progress on it, but we need another day. Kyle (Petty) and the 44 guys have really helped us out a lot. They went testing at Talladega after we tested at Daytona, and they went through a lot of things that we needed to look at, and then found some more things. That's what teammates are for. It really helped us out a lot today. We've still got some left."
.why he feels his primary car will qualify and race well:
"The first time we ran this car after we built it, it qualified fifth for the Daytona 500, so it's capable of running fast. With the shock rules like they are now, it comes back to cars like this with the lower frame rails. It could never qualify that good because we couldn't get the travel out of it. I always loved to race this one, but we had to find a way to stuff it into the race somehow. Now, everybody is coming back to more of this configuration. So, it's good for me because now I get to race the car that I love and hopefully qualify up front, too."
