.his assessment of practice:
"We came here conservative and we've been throwing things at it we're going to qualify with. Every time we've gotten better and better, and we still haven't put everything on it we're going to qualify with. We never went out on stickers and a lot of guys are going out on stickers today. We didn' t do it. We're saving it for tomorrow. They are still a couple of other things that will make us better, but we're just waiting for tomorrow.
"We needed every one of our test sessions, and it has paid off. This is one of our motors, and we've tuned on the car a lot."
.what he thinks about qualifying Saturday:
"It's going to be a long five miles. It will be the longest five miles I've ever run.
"You just sit behind the wheel and you drive the thing, but you don't want to move the wheel. You really have to concentrate pretty hard on what you' re doing because the car will run itself around there. You just have to point it and make sure you hit the same lines every time."
