Seattle, WA - The 24 Hours at Daytona has been completed and a new champion has been crowned. But for some it's just the beginning of another race, the race to save the children.

Team Seattle returned from Daytona Beach today. While the team, its sponsors, and supporters where weary from their long trip they had two things to be very, very proud of.

First was the fact that this team completed the most grueling endurance road race in North America and finished fifth in class. Secondly, they raised $215,000.00 for Childrens Hospital while doing it.

"Once again our drivers and support team did an outstanding job in bringing the car to the checker flag" stated Ty Moore, of TheRaceNet.com "The Racers Group did an outstanding job of keeping the #66 Porsche in the race and the drivers calm behind the wheel."

Seattle racecar driver Don Kitch Jr founded team Seattle in 1997. "In 1997 this was supposed to be a one-off deal looking for $60,000.00 for the kids. Here we are after the 2000 race at $755,000.00 going to the million-dollar mark. Who would have dreamed?" stated Kitch. Team Seattle drivers are Dave Gaylord, Wade Gaughran, Kiichi Takahashi, Don Kitch, and Steve Miller.
