After two years running a team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, former Trans-Am champion Tom Gloy will return to the series this season after joining forces with RaceWerX team owner Bruce Barkelew to field the Valvoline Ford Mustang for three-time Trans-Am runner-up Brian Simo.

As a driver, Gloy won the 1979 Formula Atlantic and 1984 Trans-Am titles and also competed in Indy Cars, IMSA and IROC. He followed that with a string of successes as a Trans-Am owner. Simo had six victories in 1999. North America's longest continuous road racing tour, the BF Goodrich Tires Trans-Am will begin its 35th year March 17 at Sebring.
