IRL: Jaques Lazier awaiting release from Orlando hospital

Hamilton released Saturday night
ORLANDO, Fla- Northern Light Indy Racing League driver Jaques Lazier may be released from Orlando Regional Medical Center today after suffering a lower-back fracture Jan. 29 during the Delphi Indy 200 at Walt Disney World Speedway, said Dr. Henry Bock, league director of medical services.
Lazier suffered an L1 compression fracture and was fitted with a brace, Bock said. His condition is stable and alert, and he is walking around his hospital room, Bock said.
Lazier was injured when his Motorsportscity.com/Exodus Communications G Force/Aurora/Firestone hit the outside retaining wall on Lap 111 of the 200-lap event won by Robbie Buhl.
Davey Hamilton was released Saturday night from Sand Lake Hospital near Orlando after suffering a minimal T-12 back fracture after hitting the outside retaining wall on Lap 24 in the Ericsson-Spinal Conquest-SRS Dallara/Aurora/Firestone, Bock said.
Further updates on the condition of Lazier and Hamilton will be provided when available.
