Rolex 24 hour race of Daytona is only two weeks away and team owner Rod
Everett has been negotiating with some of the best sports car racing
drivers
known to the industry with the intent to accomplish one thing by February
6,
winning the 24 hour endurance classic.
Financial and technical backing for the team remains the same as in 1999 with Yokohama tires, Park Place LTD and Landmark Motorsport equipment. In addition, the team can not be happier with a re-established association with friends at AVE (Arterial Vascular Engineering). The strength in business partnership that AVE brings to Hybrid is unparalleled to any other. The enthusiasm AVE shares and industry leadership they have established for themselves only gives Hybrid the intense additional desire to reach for more speed and the results will follow.
Hybrid has chosen to run a Riley & Scott MK3 with Ford power at this year's 24-hour classic. The durability of this combination is where the standards are set. "With the rules that have been established for this race, it will be a much larger risk to grid an under developed car" says, Everett. Team Hybrid has the competitive drivers, a prepared car and an experienced crew whom is going to Daytona to WIN!
Hybrid proudly announces the completion of their driver line up for the 24-hour slick track all nighter and the perfect guys are Bingham, Sutherland, Said and Simo!
Young Lion Chris Bingham returns after a productive 1999 season of prototype sports car racing. One would have never guessed that 1999 was Chris's first full season in the prestigious prototype sports car. He handled this experience methodically, performing flawlessly all season long. He became a leader with quality talent that did surprise the opposition.
Veteran Rick Sutherland gives them the mix that is essential for this event. Rick holds years of experience racing in a verity of cars from Formula Atlantic's to Indy cars and has competed in the top level of sports car racing. Throughout his racing career he has won championships and holds lap records. Rick ran two races with Hybrid last season. Enthusiastically he returns with a desire to accomplish what many only dream of.
Mark Simo during a recent test impressed every one with his sensitivity to chassis tuning. Mark instantly adapted well with the team and car. Everett remarked, "he is quick and has lap consistency". As a flexible team player with focus and talent behind the wheel, the competition will soon learn he is one to be feared on the track. Boris Said is"Truly a natural phenomenon behind the wheel" Everett Replies. "After testing Boris in the sports car I could not believe how smooth and easy he drove nor could I believe my stop watch". It is no wonder he is up front in every category of motor racing! Boris is laser fast, easy on the equipment and has an eye for staying out of trouble.
