Orlando, FL--Indy racecar driver Greg Ray announced
today that EDS will return as a sponsor for his Conseco/Team
Menard/Dallara/Firestone Indy racecar. The company's continued support of
his participation in the 2000 Indy Racing League (IRL) season will
officially begin on January 29, at the Walt Disney World Speedway in
Orlando, Florida.
"The key to success for any business, like racing, is effective communications," Ray explains. "EDS is moving forward at Internet speed as they assist thousands of clients in e-business development. It's exciting for me to be involved with such an innovative organization."
Global information technology services leader EDS is the Helmet Sponsor for Greg Ray and the EDS logo will appear prominently on Ray's newly designed helmet. EDS sponsored Ray for his 1999 winning championship season and the E.solutions logo appeared on the car. E.solutions is the worldwide EDS line of business dedicated to Internet strategies and solutions, and has rapidly grown into a billion-dollar unit for the corporation since its inception last year. Today, EDS announced a new approach for its 2000 sponsorship. The company plans to host clients and prospects at the many IRL regional venues.
"Motor Sports and the Indy Racing League continue to attract more and more fans each year and we believe our affiliation with Greg is a win-win for both teams," said John McCain, president of EDS E.solutions business line.
"The Internet is exploding with business opportunity and we think teaming with Greg will help us spread that message to Web-savvy race fans and executives. "
