ENGLEWOOD, Colo.Lou Gigliotti, of Dallas, Texas, will debut an all-new chassis as he returns to BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series competition in 2000, seeking his first series title and fourth SCCA Pro Racing Championship.
Gigliotti, a three-time Drivers Champion in the World Challenge (1991, 92 and 96), will drive the No. 28 LG Motorsports/G2 Performance Parts Chevrolet Corvette featuring a new LG Motorsports chassis.
This is a state-of-the-art Trans Am Series car, built to the maximum of the rules, said Gigliotti. We were getting closer with every race last year and we hate to lose, so the new car won't leave anything on the table. I owe a great deal of praise and thanks to Pratt and Miller for their technical assistance and for allowing me to use their suspension parts, plus Rocketsports and Huffaker Engineering for helping with bits and pieces. We look forward to a great season this year.
Gigliottis LG Motorsports will begin work on its ninth Trans-Am Series chassis in late January, and Jeff Simunaci is expected to take delivery of chassis seven in early February.
LG Motorsports will announce additional sponsors, as well as a possible second driver and teammate for Gigliotti, at a later date.
