ENGLEWOOD, Colo.Ruhlman Motorsports, with veteran driver Randy Ruhlman, will campaign a new Oldsmobile Aurora for the full 2000 BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series. The No. 49 Oldsmobile Aurora will carry Ruhlman Motorsports familiar Preformed Line Products/Coyote Closure sponsorship.

Ruhlman, of Greensboro, N.C., will be the first driver to contest the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series at the wheel of an Aurora. In 90 career starts, Ruhlman has 45 top-10 finishes, including four top-five efforts in 1999, when he finished sixth in the Drivers Championship.

"We are very excited about the prospects of competing in the 2000 season with the Aurorait will give GM Motorsports another very competitive model in the Trans-Am Series, said Ruhlman. "I began my career in the Trans-Am Series in an Oldsmobile with Rocketsports. The opportunity to bring the Aurora into the Series, in a year that will see us achieve our 100th start, will certainly be both challenging and rewarding."

Ruhlman Motorsports will rely on the skills of CRD Engine Development and Bob Cronin to provide the necessary power to run up front.

"I've known Bobby for 10 years now, using his engines from 1991-93, and he always gave us tremendous power and unbeatable reliability, added Ruhlman. Bob's expertise with GM products gives me great confidence that our program for 2000 will step up to the next level."

Ruhlman Motorsports has also made significant moves in personnel, including the addition of engineering support, and will soon announce new associate sponsors that will be coming on board.

"The addition of the Aurora to the 2000 Trans-Am Series lineup has already drawn enthusiastic support and excitement from many sources," said Cristi Ruhlman, Ruhlman Motorsports Marketing Coordinator. "Weve had a surge of support from dealerships, sponsors and fans that far exceeds anything we could have achieved running another make of car."
