Glen Ellyn, Ill. - Racing Champions launches the NASCAR 2000 racing season with new body styles for collectors favorite die-cast vehicle replicas - The Originals.
In addition to all-new toolings for the new NASCAR Chevrolet Monte Carlo and Ford Taurus body styles for 2000, these new designs feature wider bodies, newly designed front grilles, and re-shaped rear- and side windows. Both the 1:64th and 1:24th scale 2000 Taurus and Monte Carlo replicas will feature a more detailed chassis as well.
"During our tenth anniversary of Racing Champions last year we commissioned special artwork for the packaging of Originals and it was an instant success with collectors," said Pete Henseler, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Racing Champions. "In 2000, we have once again commissioned all new artwork for each piece, but each driver release will be limited to one design to make them easier to collect and to bring a fresh look to a tried-and-true collectible."
The Racing Champions Originals collection also features the all-new Originals Pit Crew Scene, which includes a 1:64 scale stock car, figurines of pit crew members and a pit-crew wagon replica all on a base that simulates the actual sounds heard in the pits during a pit stop.
New this year, the 1:64 scale Originals transporter series comes packaged with a 1:64 scale Originals stock car. And for those enjoy the thrill of the chase, the ever-popular Silver Chrome Chase Cars return in 2000 and will be inserted at a rate of 1:999 for the 1:64 scale, 1:24 scale and transporters.
Racing Champions Originals are available in 1:64 scale (SRP of $1.99), 1:24 scale (SRP of $10.99) and 1:64 scale transporters (SRP of $10.99). The Originals Pit Crew Scene will be offered at an SRP of $9.99.
