Tinton Falls, NJ - The True Value International Race of Champions announced today the schedule of events for the True Value IROC 2000 season. The race team that builds, tunes and delivers 12 equal race cars to 12 of the world's best drivers will make their annual pilgrimage to Daytona International Speedway during Speedweeks 2000 for race one of the four race series. The green flag signals the start of IROC XXIV on Friday, February 18th at 2:00 p.m. The 40 lap, 100-mile event will be the 20th IROC opener held at the 2.5-mile high-banked tri-oval.

Race one from Daytona will be the only True Value IROC race not to air on the same weekend as the event.. ABC Sports will broadcast the Daytona IROC race on Sunday, March 12 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time following coverage of the NASCAR Winston Cup Atlanta race.

Race two will return the invitational all-star series to Talladega Superspeedway, Talladega Alabama. The 2.66-mile high-banked tri-oval will provide great IROC racing action for the 12th time on Saturday, April 15 for 38 laps totaling 101 miles.

Race two from Talladega will air the next day on Sunday, April 16 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on ABC Sports.

Race three takes place at Michigan Speedway, Brooklyn Michigan, on Saturday, June 10 and will air live on ESPN at 12:00 Noon Eastern Time.

Last year the 2.0-mile oval provided the racing community with an unforgettable father/son finish when Dale Earnhardt held off Dale Earnhardt, Jr. .007 second at the stripe; the closest margin of victory in IROC history.

The True Value IROC series will rap up 2000 with race four at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis, Indiana on Friday, August 4. The series champion will be crowned for the third time at the famous 2.5-mile home to the Indy 500 and Brickyard 400.

The championship crowning race will broadcast the next day on ABC Sports Saturday, August 5 at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time following the Brickyard 400 coverage.
