MOORESVILLE, N.C. --- ppc Racing announced today that
they are seeking
associate sponsors for their Chevrolets driven by Jeff Green and Jason
Keller in the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division for 2000. ppc
Racing has already secured primary sponsorship for both teams.
"Jeff Green and Jason Keller both performed well in 1999," said Keith Barnwell, general manager of ppc Racing. "Both ppc Racing teams are in position to run for a championship in 2000, and our organization can offer a great opportunity for an associate sponsor that is looking to reap the benefits that a NASCAR Busch Series program can offer. We are excited about the primary sponsors that we have acquired for 2000, but there is still plenty of room on both cars for associate sponsorship." Jeff Green shined in 1999 winning three races and finishing second in the Busch Series point standings. Keller had a successful year as well winning two races and finishing eighth in the final standings.
"The focus of ppc Racing will be exclusively on the NASCAR Busch Series," continued Barnwell. "It is a series that has grown by leaps and bounds over the past several years, and has proven to be very successful for all of its sponsors. We expect that any sponsor that chooses to become affiliated with ppc Racing will receive considerable exposure from the talented teams we have been able to put together."
Jeff Green will drive the No. 10 Chevrolet Monte Carlo this year in the NASCAR Busch Series. A primary sponsor has been acquired, but has not been announced. Before 1999, Green had one win in the NASCAR Busch Series that came at Las Vegas in 1997. His also finished fourth in the Busch Series standings in 1996. In 1999, Green won races at Nashville Speedway U.S.A., Myrtle Beach Speedway and Memphis Motorsports Park. He accumulated four poles, 15 top-five and 19 top-10 finishes. With the help of crew chief Harold Holly, Green finished runner-up in the NASCAR Busch Series point standings in 1999.
Jason Keller will drive the No. 57 Excedrin Chevrolet prepared by crew chief Steve Addington for the 2000 NASCAR Busch Series season. Prior to 1999, Keller's career highlights included a win at Indianapolis Raceway Park in 1995 and a fourth-place finish in the point standings that same year. Keller had a breakthrough season in 1999 with two wins (Bristol Motor Speedway and Indianapolis Raceway Park), three poles, five top-five and 12 top-10 finishes and an eighth-place standing in the points.
ppc Racing's two drivers combined for five wins, seven pole positions, 20 top-five and 31 top-10 finishes in 1999. ppc Racing is located at 177 Knob Hill Road in Mooresville, N.C. The team will begin the 2000 season with eight new Chevrolet Monte Carlos and they have plans to have 18 cars completed by mid-April.
