AMERICAN SPIRIT RACING EXPANDS WITH TWO TEAMS

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--Michael Lewis, of San Diego, Calif., will return to the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series in 2000 with American Spirit Racing, carrying the familiar No. 12 red, white and blue "Team AmeriSuites" banner as in 1999, with primary sponsorship from AmeriSuitesAmericas Affordable All-Suite Hotels.

"Michael did a great job for us," said Jon Lewis, American Spirit Racing President. "We are very happy to have him back for 2000. Mike has shown a great deal of consistency and put the team in the Championship lead for several races in 1999. This year will be even better."

In addition to Team AmeriSuites, American Spirit Racing has expanded its involvement this year, forming a multi-year partnership with Tom Colemans TWC Motorsport operation, which will field John Paul Jr. in 2000.

"Its exciting to be involved with two strong teams and drivers," added Jon Lewis. "Michael is testing extensively throughout the off season and he has an aggressive attitude toward 2000, which should help propel the team to the front."

Team AmeriSuites will again feature Michael Lewis long-time team manager Dave Steele, crew chief Joe Geldert and data engineer Buddy Fey.

"Its been great dealing with Jon and American Spirit Racing," said Michael Lewis. "Jons helped create a great deal of exposure and the support of AmeriSuites has enabled us to significantly increase the program."

Team Amerisuites will feature extensive promotional programs as part of the 2000 agenda, including an "In-Car Video Exhibit" for fans to experience at BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am Series events; extensive use of in-car cameras; and special media/press programs. The No. 12 AmeriSuites entry will also feature special graphics from March through June to commemorate AmeriSuites' national 100th Hotel Promotion.

"We were very pleased with the level of exposure generated by our sponsorship last season and we believe that the tie-in with our big 100th hotel marketing campaign, along with extensive television coverage, will result in even greater brand awareness," said John Leavitt, AmeriSuites Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "Auto racing is the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. and its demographics provide a perfect fit for us."
